This is a rather warm place, just like the generous and exquisite Dominique Bouchet’s cuisine.

The restaurant is not that famous, despite its Red Guide star, but it should definitely be so. The geographic situation doesn’t help either: it is located in a little narrow street that is not traversed by chance.

Since the very first moment in which we enter the restaurant, we feel welcomed and invited to sit down at the table. The menu? Delicious, traditional with some Japanese tidbits, perfect and exactly as we like it: everything here is eaten with a smile! One of the home made specialties, the mutton leg with 7 hours’ cooking on a low flame, accompanied with cocoa beans and apple jam, is a dish that carries the long outstanding tradition of grandmotherly food and still manages to take it a little further with en extra touch of magic… As a starter, we can taste fried eggs in a brioche shell, salted boletus with parsley, brown shallot juice -for a mixture of tastes- or the prawn tempura, just to remember Kyoto for an instant.

Service is extremely considerate but, above all, never too fawning: they really know where the balance is! Prices are reasonable, too, since it is possible to have lunch for less than 50 €… Hence, you don’t need to inhibit yourself.
